Palo Alto, Calif. -- The College of Charleston fell to Campbell 7-0 in the Stanford Softball Classic from Palo Alto, Calif., Friday morning.
The Cougars (9-14) will face the host Cardinals at 2 p.m. Friday. The Camels improve their record to 15-7 and face Texas Tech in the second game of the day.
CofC recorded three hits coming from Tiffany Harmon and Linzi Bereitschaft. Harmon, a left fielder from Lynn Haven, Fla., went 2-for-four on the day. Bereitschaft went 1-for-3.
Junior Shannon Howard (5-6) pitched through one out in the first inning before being replace. Terri Mesko pitched through 4.2 innings in relief striking out two Camel batters with only one earned run. Alexa Datko finished the game for the pitching staff striking out two batters.
Brittany Stanley pitched a complete game for CU. She struck out six batters recording only three hits.
The meeting was the second between Charleston and Campbell. The teams split a doubleheader hosted by the Cougars at Patriots Point in February.
