Fuenfstueck, Mahle Named Harris Teeter Student-Athletes of the Week

Laura Fuenfstueck | Women's Golf | Junior | Langen, Germany | Finance

In the face of dismal weather conditions at the Palmetto Intercollegiate on Kiawah Island, Laura Fuenfstueck put together her best outing of the season. The junior finished second overall individually in a tournament where she was one of only two golfers in a field of over 100 to avoid posting a score over par, scoring 216 to break even on the three-day tournament. She played a key role in the Cougars' ninth place performance, allowing The College to conclude its fall slate on a high note.

Matthew Mahle | Men's Golf | Junior | Lexington, Ky. | Accounting

In his first start of the fall season, junior Matthew Mahle (Lexington, Ky.) tied a career low with a second-round, four-birdie 69 and tied for ninth (+4) individually at The Intercollegiate at The Grove in College Grove, Tenn. He previously shot 69 in his collegiate debut at the Navy Fall Classic as a freshman in 2013.
