CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team (5-12, 4-2) will look to pick up its first-ever win in Delaware (9-8, 3-3) when they head to the Bob Carpenter Center to take on the Blue Hens on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Cougars will look to end their road-trip on a high note after dropping 70-57 to Drexel in Philadelphia on Friday. Breanna Bolden submitted another excellent outing with the best stat-line of any player on either team, picking up the 18th double-double of her career with a 21-13 day. Tanisha Brown and Darien Huff joined Bolden in double-digit scoring, but strong bench-play from the Dragons was able to hold CofC off as they pulled away late.
The Cougars and Blue Hens will meet for the eighth time on record in a series that dates back to 2014. Delaware has the 5-2 edge all-time, and managed to win both games against Charleston last season. The last time they played in the Bob Carpenter Center, Bolden made history by becoming just the second player in CofC's Division I Era to record 1000 points and 200 steals in a career. However, four Blue Hens scored in double-digits to lift them to the 72-55 win.
The Blue Hens are in the middle of the pack in the CAA at 9-8 overall and 3-3 against CAA opponents. Their conference wins have all come against teams lower than them in the standings, having beaten UNCW, Hofstra and Northeastern.
UD is led by sophomore Nicole Enabosi, who ranks second in the conference in rebounds at 9.6 per game, and also leads the Blue Hens in both steals and scoring. Sade Chatman is an important player in her own right, averaging an 11-7 on the season, while Erika Brown is the No. 3 option in the UD offense with 10.4 PPG and 41 assists on the season.
