Men’s Tennis Returns to Florida to Take On UNF

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's tennis team (4-1) returns to the Sunshine State for the second consecutive weekend Friday, when they will head to Jacksonville for a 6 p.m. showdown with the North Florida Ospreys (4-4).
The Cougars went 2-1 in their last Florida swing, defeating Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M before falling to Florida State in the final match of the trip. CofC struggled in doubles play after a stellar start to the season in that department, but made up for it by shining in singles play. Juan Estevarena and Ryan Khan were both effective in particular, as both went undefeated in singles action.
The College hasn't squared off with UNF since three years ago, another match that took place in Jacksonville. Zack Lewis and Alon Faiman picked up wins for the Cougars in the fifth and sixth singles flights, but it wasn't enough to prevent the 5-2 Osprey win.
North Florida is 4-4 on the year, and comes off a 4-1 win on the road against Troy. The Ospreys have two players nationally ranked in both phases of play. Jack Findel-Hawkins is ranked No. 2 in doubles and No. 74 in singles, while Jefta Kecic ranks No. 46 and No. 62 respectively.
