CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The No. 15 (VolleyballMag.com Mid-Major Poll) College of Charleston volleyball team enters a pivotal stretch of the CAA schedule, which kicks off with matchups against Hofstra and Northeastern this weekend at TD Arena. Charleston faces Hofstra on Friday at 7:00 pm, and Northeastern on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
Series History
Friday's match marks the 15th all-time meeting between CofC and Hofstra. The Cougars lead the all-time series, 9-5, including three wins in 2017. The Cougars and Huskies will meet for the 12th time on Sunday, with CofC leading the all-time series, 8-3 after the teams split the season series in 2017.
Scouting Hofstra
Hofstra enters the weekend with a 13-5 overall record and a 3-1 mark in CAA play. The Pride lead the CAA in hitting percentage (.264), kills (13.97), assists per set (13.12), and service aces (1.84). Laura Masciullo ranks third in the CAA in kills per set (3.76), while Doris Bogoje (.400) and Michela Rucli (.391) rank second and third, respectively, in hitting percentage.
Scouting Northeastern
Northeastern carries a 10-7 overall record and a 3-1 mark in conference action into the weekend. The Huskies rank fifth in the league in opponent hitting percentage (.206) during conference play, and sixth in service aces (1.28). Hannah Boyd (3.46) and Athena Ardila (3.15) ranked sixth and seventh, respectively, in kills per set.
Top Marks
The Cougars are off to a torrid start to CAA play, leading the conference in hitting percentage (.298), kills per set (14.92) and assists per set (13.77). Devon Rachel paces the CAA in kills per set (4.77) in league play, while three Cougars - Peyton Eisnaugle (2nd, .434), Mandy Napierala (5th, .362), and Rachel (9th, .324) rank amongst the top 10 in hitting percentage. Allison Beckman leads the CAA in assists per set (11.85) in league play.
Rare Company
The Cougars are one of only two Division I programs with three active players in the top 50 in career kills, assists, and digs. Allison Beckman is fourth in assists, McKala Rhodes is 21st in digs, and Kennedy Madison is 39th in kills.

The Cougars are ranked 15th in the VolleyballMag.com Mid-Major Poll this week, up two spots from last week. This marks six consecutive weeks in the top 20 for the Cougars, with the team's highest ranking coming at No. 12 on Aug. 27.

The Cougars' attack is amongst the top offensive units in the nation this season, and enters the week ranked in the nation's top 20 in two categories. Charleston ranks 16th in team assists (868) and 17th in team kills (925), while also entering the week ranked 40th in kills per set (13.81) and 44th in hitting percentage (.253).
Chasing History
Head coach Jason Kepner is in his 12th year at the helm, and already ranks as the longest tenured coach in program history. Kepner's 277 career wins ranks second on the school's all-time list, trailing only Nancy Wilson's (1974-83) total of 286 victories.
Devon Rachel, Record-Breaker
Devon Rachel delivered one of the top individual performances in recent memory last Friday at Delaware, setting a new three-set single-match program record with 21 kills. The senior outside hitter put down nine kills in each of the second and third sets - including the deciding point in each frame - while adding 15 digs to record her sixth double-double of the season.
