CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston Men's Soccer will play host to JMU on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. at Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, S.C. CofC will honor its seniors prior to kick-off.
Last Outing
The College fell to Coastal Carolina at home by a score of 2-1. Despite getting on the board first, the Cougars let up two unanswered goals to the Chanticleers. Senior Tucker Heffron scored the lone goal of the night for the Cougars in the 7th minute after receiving a freshman George Maxwell cross before heading it into the back of the net. Freshman keeper Austin Shuping made his fourth consecutive start and recorded a career-high seven saves.
The Opponent
The Dukes come into the match with an overall record of 9-5-2 and a CAA record of 4-1-1. In their most recent matchup, they took on No. 19 Penn State and the match finished with a 1-1 draw. JMU has faced off against three four ranked opponents in 2019 including No. 19 Penn State, No. 1 Virginia, No. 14 Cal State Fullerton and No. 1 Wake Forest with wins over Cal State Fullerton and Wake Forest by scores of 1-0. The team is led by Manuel Ferriol who has scored 12 goals and dished out four assists en route to 28 points which is tied for sixth in the nation.
