HOW IT HAPPENED
- High Point started the game off with a 12-4 run through the first seven minutes of the game.
- After being down by eight points at the end of the first, the Cougars brought it within five at the 9:49 mark of the second quarter
- The Panthers went up 36-16 at the 4:43 mark of the second quarter but the Cougars went on a 9-0 run to close out the half and cut the lead to 10 points.
- CofC went on a 24-0 run in the fourth quarter and overtime periods, sparked by consecutive baskets by Perkins at the 5:09 mark of the fourth quarter.
- Eady grabbed her sixth offensive board and strongly put back a missed shot to bring the score within single digits in the fourth quarter.
- Freshman Nia Covington knocked down a mid-range jumper with 27 seconds left in the game to tie it up at 68 apiece.
- Covington followed up her game-tying shot to send it to OT by scoring back-to-back buckets in overtime to give CofC a six-point lead.
- Collins gave the Cougars the largest lead of the day at nine points after scoring a driving layup and hitting clutch free throws with less than a minute to play in OT.
