HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore Madison Taylor got the Cougars started on their first possession with a made three pointer from the corner.
- There was eight lead changes and one tie in just the first five minutes of play of the first quarter.
- The Cougars went scoreless for nearly six minutes in the second quarter and the Blue Hens took advantage going on a 10-0 run.
- Collins knocked down a triple at the 1:03 mark of the second to get the Cougars out of their slump but consecutive buckets from Delaware tied the game at 28-28 entering the half.
- Delaware went on a 10-2 run and gave themselves a nine-point lead at the 3:22 mark of the third.
- Charleston went on another scoring slump late in the third quarter before Ford knocked down a triple and cut the Blue Hen lead to just six points.
- Williams picked off a cross-court pass by Delaware and took it the other way for the score to cut the Blue Hen lead to single digits.
- The College couldn't get back to their first quarter scoring efforts as it went scoreless for nearly four minutes in the fourth which led to Delaware taking a 15-point lead with five minutes left to play.
- CofC went on a 9-2 run towards the end of the quarter but it just wasn't enough as the Blue Hens held on to win.
