OPENING SERVE
- The Cougars swept doubles play to take a 1-0 lead into singles action.
- Eva Nyikos and Kate Earnhardt posted a hard-fought 7-5 victory at No. 1 doubles.
- Elizabeth Nowak and Slade Coetzee won at No. 3 doubles, 6-4, after Anastasia Palaska and Clara Errard earned the win at No. 2 doubles in a tiebreaker.
- Nyikos cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win in the second singles flight to claim the Cougars' second point of the day.
- Coetzee, Nowak and Brotzman each forced their opponents to three sets, including second-set tiebreaker win for Brotzman to push her flight to a third set.
