CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The Citadel Bulldogs took the first two sets and held off a late push by the College of Charleston to claim their first-ever victory over the Cougars, 3-1, on Sunday afternoon at McAlister Field House.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Citadel edged the Cougars, 26-24, in the first set and posted wins of 25-19 and 27-25 in sets two and four.
Charleston held a 13-8 advantage in blocks but the Bulldogs finished the match with 55 kills to CofC's 43.
Mellanie King and Sharlissa de Jesus combined for 37 kills to lead the attack for The Citadel.
Logan Manusky posted a match-high 22 digs for the Cougars.

COUGAR OF THE MATCH
Manusky paced the defense with a match-high 22 digs, including a combined 13 digs in the second and third sets. The senior libero added seven assists, a pair of service aces and one kill.

NOTABLES

The Bulldogs' win marks the first victory in the 32-match all-time series with the Cougars.
The Cougars' blocking corps finished the day with 13 blocks, including nine in the middle two sets.
Gabi Bailey led the attack with nine kills to go along with eight digs, two blocks and two aces.
Emma Falk turned in a match-high six blocks in addition to six kills.
Tori Carpenter posted her second straight double-double with 15 assists and 11 digs.
Claire Campbell chipped in five kills and five blocks.
