GAME PREVIEW
The College of Charleston women's soccer team (0-1-0) will host Clemson (6-4-0) in the first of two home games this week at Ralph Lundy Field at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

The Cougars and Tigers will meet in Game One slated for Thursday, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. (ET) and in Game Two on Sunday, Feb. 28 at 11 a.m. (ET).

"We're excited about the opportunity to host a top program like Clemson at Patriots Point this week," CofC Head Coach Christian Michner said. "The chance to play them twice in quick succession is pretty unique and I know our players are looking forward to the matches. I have always felt scheduling teams – that will really challenge you to be at your best – is how you grow. Clemson will certainly do that."

Charleston is coming off a season-opening road loss at Florida, where junior midfielder Kacey Smekrud scored her second career goal in a Cougar uniform. Meanwhile, Clemson played a full fall season and made it to the quarterfinals (L, 1-0 to Duke) of the ACC Tournament.

"My team played very well in stages during our opener down at Florida last weekend and will take some lessons from that match into our Clemson series," Michner said. "It's always great to play home matches and it will be our first at Patriots Point in nearly 500 days, so we are anxious to get back out there."

NEW LOOK AND FEEL
For the first time since the College of Charleston men's or women's soccer teams played on Ralph Lundy Field in the Fall of 2019, the USL Championship League Charleston Battery professional soccer team has called it home since March of 2020 and several upgrades have been made to the facility. The partnership between the College of Charleston and the Charleston Battery enhanced the overall experience for coaches, student-athletes, fans and the community.
