WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW scored five times in the bottom of the fourth to pull out a 6-5 win over College of Charleston in the final game of a CAA series Sunday in Wilmington.

The Cougars got run-scoring hits from Aniz Roman in the first and Mia Dittoe in the second to build a 3-1 lead and added to their margin when Noel Dominguez doubled in a pair of runs in the third.

But two errors led to four unearned runs in the fourth to push UNCW in front. Kayla Gutierrez reached on a two-base error to start the sixth, but Seahawk relief pitcher Janel Gamache retired the final six batters.

Gutierrez had two of CofC's five hits. Payton Lemire allowed only one hit and one unearned run in 2 1/3 innings but was charged with the loss.

The Cougars are at Charleston Southern for a doubleheader on Tuesday at 5 p.m. and return to CAA play next weekend at James Madison.
