CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston volleyball returns to the friendly confines of TD Arena for their first home CAA matches of the fall slate against Stony Brook. Both sides come in looking for their first conference win after leading their respective matches Sunday but falling in five.
Charleston leads the brief series history 2-0 taking down the Seawolves on back-to-back days last season on Long Island by 3-0 and 3-1 scores. Both teams have swept their opponent in their seven combined wins as Charleston took down Le Moyne, George Washington and Charleston Southern in straight sets while Stony Brook has wins over Bucknell, Manhattan, Columbia and Siena.
Lexi Wierzbicki and Anna Smith lead the Charleston attack through 13 matches as both average north of 3 kills per set while Sofie Vogel is closing-in on 1 block per set and the trio of Wierzbicki, Elli Kinney and Tynley Smeltzer all have at least 2.4 digs per set. Stony Brook is led by Kali Moore's 3.36 kills per set, Abby Campbell's 0.89 blocks per set and Julia Patsos' 4.07 digs per set.
Charleston has just four home CAA weekends this fall beginning with the Seawolves on Saturday. Other CAA teams to play inside TD Arena include UNCW (Oct. 7-8), Elon (Oct. 21-22) and Hofstra (Nov. 4-5).

In their second season as a CAA member, Stony Brook enters the weekend 4-8 overall and 0-2 in conference play dropping home matches to Northeastern last week. The Seawolves have seen success on the serve ranking 18th nationally in aces per set (2.09) led by Kali Moore's 0.45/set.
Stony Brook as a whole ranks among the top-half of the CAA in aces per set, assists per set, digs per set and kills per set. Torri Henry leads the CAA with 10.51 assists/set while Kali Moore sits second in attacks per set (10.12) and Julia Pastos is second in digs/set (4.07).

QUICK HITTERS
- Charleston is 2-0 all-time against Stony Brook taking both meetings last fall on Long Island by 3-0 and 3-1 margins. Emma Appleman, Jasmin Goei, Tynley Smeltzer, Anna Smith and Lexi Wierzbicki all saw extended time against the Seawolves last fall helping lead to the two road wins. Appleman had a double-double in the second match (33 assists, 12 digs) and Smeltzer had a career-best 6 service aces in the finale.
- The Cougars rank among the top-four of the CAA in hitting percentage (.218), and digs (14.52/set) while sitting fifth in assists (11.50/set) and sixth in both kills (12.54/set) and blocks (2.01/set).

Lexi Wierzbicki (3.60) and Anna Smith (3.50) are top-10 in kills per set, Jasmin Goei (8.11)is top-10 in assists per set, Wierzbicki (1.20) and Sofie Vogel (1.40) are top-5 in blocks per set and Tynley Smeltzer leads the way in digs per set (5.40).
- Charleston can also grab win No. 100 in CAA play this weekend as the Cougars hold a 99-53 record since joining the league a decade ago. Only Towson has more wins (104) and a higher winning percentage during that span among current league members.
- Charleston has had success against recent CAA additions with a combined record of 4-0 against Stony Brook and North Carolina A&T. The Cougars are set to play Hampton for the first time since they joined the league this fall as well as Campbell – Charleston is 1-0 against Hampton and 14-2 versus Campbell in previous nonconference meetings.

- Admission is free of charge for all College of Charleston volleyball matches at TD Arena.
- Gates will open one hour prior to first serve of the opening match each day.
- College of Charleston's clear bag policy is in effect for all matches played at TD Arena this fall. The full policy can be found here.
- There is no designated general parking area for games at TD Arena. There are various parking garages and paid lots in the vicinity of TD Arena that all spectators can utilize.
- Alcohol will be available for purchase at all CofC volleyball matches this fall with last call prior to the third set of the final match each day.
