
Women's Soccer Opens 2024 Season Versus South Carolina State

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston women's soccer will kick off the 2024 season at home versus South Carolina State on Thursday, August 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Patriots Point.
The Cougars return 61 percent of their 2023 roster, including seven starters.
Returning to the lineup for Charleston is Shae Yocum, who finished last season with second team all-conference honors, and Shea Vidovic, who was named to the all-rookie conference team.
Yocum anchored the back line, starting in all 17 games for the Cougars in the 2023 season, only being off the field for 49 of a possible 1,530 minutes. In her three-year career, Yocum has played in all 53 games with 52 starts and a total of 4,092 minutes. She begins the 2024 campaign with a preseason CAA Honorable Mention.
Vidovic saw action in all 17 games with 10 starts and tied for the team lead with three goals, three assists and nine points. Her 34 shots and 14 shots on goal were both second on the Cougars. Vidovic had two goals and two assists in a win over Hampton and scored a goal against Mercer.
Delaney Dawes and Bella Antonio also return to the lineup for the Cougars this season, both contributing three goals each in 2023. Dawes was a consistent starter in her junior season, receiving a starting nod in all but one contest.
Savannah Barron returns in her senior season, who served as the primary goalkeeper for the Cougars in 2023. Barron tallied 65 saves with 15 starts. Katie Carrino also returns for her senior season, seeing action in two games last season.

South Carolina State finished their 2023 season with a 0-13-1 record. The two teams last faced each other in 2022, where Charleston grabbed a 7-0 win.
The Cougars hold a 4-0 record against the Bulldogs, looking to open their 2024 campaign with a win at home.
