Cougs and Bucs Conclude Home-and-Home

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston baseball concludes its home-and-home series with Charleston Southern on Tuesday, April 8. First pitch from Nielsen Field is scheduled for 6 p.m. with the game airing live on ESPN+.
 
 
FIRST PITCH:
  • Charleston earned the series win at Monmouth in its first weekend road trip of the season.
  • Junior Jake Brink threw a complete game in the Cougars' 5-1 win on Friday before redshirt junior Daniel Brooks tossed seven innings as CofC earned the 6-5 victory.
  • Brink is the only pitcher in the CAA this season who has thrown a 9-inning complete game against a conference opponent.
  • Brink is also the first Charleston pitcher to throw a 9-inning complete game since 2021.
  • Senior Davis Aiken picked up his fifth save of the campaign in Saturday's win, tying him with Josh McLaughlin (2005-06) for seventh all-time in program history with 16 career saves.
  • Senior Dariyan Pendergrass scored seven runs in last week's four contests, batting .389 (7-for-18) with two extra-base hits, five RBI, three stolen bases and a .476 on base percentage.
  • Pendergrass has stolen a base in five of the last six contests and is 25-for-26 on the base paths this year.
  • Graduate Avery Neaves posted a .619 on base percentage last week, going 7-for-14 at the dish with six walks and six RBI. Neaves has reached base in 23 straight games and in 28 of the 30 games in 2025.
 
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Charleston and Charleston Southern meet for the 82nd time in program history Tuesday, the second-most meetings against an opponent (The Citadel – 103). The Cougars hold a 63-18 overall record and are 31-6 at home. CofC has scored 10-plus runs in 31 of the 81 contests.
  • The Cougars won the first half of the home-and-home series on April 1, 14-9, at Patriots Point. Pendergrass and graduate Will Baumhofer slugged back-to-back home runs in Charleston's nine run sixth inning.

  • CofC hosts Delaware for a three-game set beginning on Friday, April 11. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. at Patriots Point.
