WILMINGTON, N.C. – Fourth-seeded College of Charleston baseball lost 7-2 to No. 3 seed Monmouth Thursday morning in the 2026 CAA Baseball Championship at Brooks Field.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST MONMOUTH:
- Graduate Dylan Johnson homered two batters into the game for CofC.
- Charleston doubled its lead in the second, courtesy of sophomore Landon Penfield's sacrifice fly.
- Monmouth leveled the game at two with a pair of runs in the third before scoring five runs in the fifth.
OF NOTE:
- Charleston faced Monmouth in the CAA Tournament for the first time.
- Redshirt senior Alex Lyon made his program-best 101st career appearance Thursday.
