WILMINGTON, N.C. – Fourth-seeded College of Charleston baseball lost to No. 5 Hofstra, 13-0, in seven innings Wednesday in the opening round of the 2026 CAA Baseball Championship at Brooks Field.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST HOFSTRA:
- The Pride scored six runs in the top of the third before making it 7-0 in the fourth.
- Hofstra then tacked on six more runs in the seventh.
- Sophomore Alex LaCoste and redshirt junior Braeden Smith each reached base twice for the Cougars Wednesday.
OF NOTE:
- Charleston has a 23-14 record versus Hofstra and are now 2-1 against the Pride in the CAA Championship.
UP NEXT:
- Charleston will play in the first elimination game on Thursday at 11 a.m. against the loser of No. 3 Monmouth and No. 6 UNCW.
