Four Cougars Named to Preseason All-CAA Team

RICHMOND, Va. – Charleston men's soccer named four Cougars to the Preseason All-CAA Team, including Matt Lenert, Ezra White, Noah Gold and Olly Marshall.

All four players return to the Charleston lineup, with three earning postseason honors for the 2024 season.

Lenert earns his first conference recognition after appearing in 18 games last season with 16 starts. The junior forward tallied eight goals and two assists, including the game-winner against Stetson.

White joins the list after receiving an All-CAA Second Team honor at the end of the 2024 season. The midfielder led the conference with 10 assists on the season, ranking fourth in the NCAA for most assists.

Gold earns a spot on the preseason team after joining the Cougars his junior year on the backline. Scoring five goals and logging 1,365 minutes in 2024, Gold received All-CAA Second Team honors.

Marshall returns to the Charleston squad for his fourth season, receiving All-CAA Third Team in his junior year after leading the conference in total saves and saves per game. Marshall faced three penalty shots on the season, allowing none. The goalkeeper appeared in all 18 games and led CofC to four shutouts.

The Cougars tied for second in the South Poll with UNCW. Charleston led the conference in preseason team honors with four.

CofC will begin their season at Patriots Point, facing South Carolina on Thursday, August 21. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. with free admission for spectators.
