
Charleston Drops Contest Against Presbyterian

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's tennis team (7-4) narrowly fell 4-3 to Presbyterian (7-3) at the Turner Tennis Center on Wednesday afternoon.
After the Blue Hose won the No. 1 doubles court, Jake Smith and Ram Mude paired up to win court two 6-4 to even the score. Needing to win their court to secure the doubles point for the Cougars, Leon Harder and Juan Diego Rojas Mora grinded out a 7-6 (5) tiebreak win in slot No. 3 to give CofC a 1-0 advantage heading into singles.
In position No. 6, Jordyn Larke opened singles play with a dominant 6-4, 6-3 win to give Charleston a 2-0 advantage. Presbyterian then rattled off three straight victories on courts five, two and three to take a 3-2 lead.
Over in slot No. 4, Jake Smith battled back from a first set tiebreak loss as he won his next two sets 6-3, 6-2 and evened the match 3-3. The Blue Hose ultimately won court one in three sets as they defeated the Cougars 4-3 at the Turner Tennis Center on Wednesday afternoon.
