Charleston Narrowly Defeats New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The College of Charleston men's tennis team (5-3) earned its fifth straight win with a 4-3 victory at New Orleans (7-3) on Tuesday afternoon.
Despite Jake Smith and Ram Mude winning 6-2 on court two in doubles, New Orleans won the other two courts and took a 1-0 lead heading into singles.
In singles, Dani Farran evened the match with a 6-3, 6-2 win on court four, but the Privateers regained the lead (2-1) with their own two set win in slot No. 3.
Juan Diego Rojas Mora then collected a 6-4, 6-3 straight set win on court six before Jakub Solarski won 7-6 (4), 6-3 in the No. 1 position to put CofC in front 3-2.
Needing just one more point to clinch the match, Eddie Vo battled back from a first set loss to win his final two sets 6-3, 6-2 on court five to earn the fourth and all important point for the Cougars on Tuesday evening.
New Orleans won in a third set tiebreak on court two, but the Cougars won their fifth straight contest with a 4-3 win at New Orleans on Tuesday evening.
