CofC Women's Soccer Drops Match at Georgia Southern 2-1

Sophomore Danielle Jordan's third goal of the season was not enough for the College of Charleston women's soccer team, as the Cougars suffer a bitter defeat at Georgia Southern Thursday afternoon, 2-1, in double overtime.
Jordan scored the first goal of the match in the 24th minute of action to give CofC (4-5-2, 2-1-0 SoCon) the advantage over Georgia Southern (5-6-1, 3-1-0), 1-0.
The rest of the first half was scoreless, with CofC attempting seven shots and one corner kick, while Georgia Southern took three shots and no corner kicks.
Jenni Boykin scored her first goal of the match for Georgia Southern in the 49th minute to tie the score for the Eagles, 1-1. Ashley Toussaint gained the assist.
At the end of regulation, the Cougars took 18 shots and three corner kicks, while Georgia Southern took only six shots and had no corner kicks.
Boykin scored the match-winner in the 101st minute of the match, during the second overtime period, to secure the victory for Georgia Southern. Toussaint once again received credit for the assist.
Freshman Sarah Wiggers had three saves in the match for CofC.
The Cougars return to action on Sunday, Oct. 8 at Wofford. The match will begin at 2 p.m.
