Megan Fesl had 19 kills while teammate Adrianna Stasiuk added 16 kills leading Notre Dame women's volleyball team to a 3-1 win over the College of Charleston (30-24, 24-30, 30-26, 30-19) in opening round action in the Notre Dame Shamrock Invitational at the Joyce Center on Friday.
With the win, Notre Dame improved to 3-2, while Charleston saw its three-match winning streak snapped and fell to 3-2.
The Cougars got a team-high 15 kills from freshman Cole Dawley and 18 digs from Megan Parkerson. Annie Uthe and Whitney Russell added 12 and 10 kills each respectively.
The Cougars take on Ohio in second round action at 5:30 on Saturday.
