
Brandon Sizemore Named SoCon Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. --- College of Charleston's Brandon Sizemore was named Player of the Week of the Week for the week ending April 21. Sizemore batted .450 (9-of-20) with two home runs and a .560 on-base percentage with three walks and two hit-by-pitched balls. He drove in 11 and scored five with three stolen bases as the Cougars won five of six games.
Other top hitters included Georgia Southern's Jeremiah Parker, Furman's Matt Hemmingway, Appalachian State's Wes Hobson, The Citadel's Sonny Meade, Davidson's Danny Wiess, Elon's Cory Harrilchak, UNC Greensboro's Matt Gaski, Western Carolina's Barrett Shaft and Wofford's Sterling Dye.
Furman's Jay Jackson and Western Carolina's Chris Masters share Pitcher of the Week honors. Jackson allowed four hits and one run in eight innings with six strikeouts in a win over Wofford on April 18. Masters pitched 4.2 innings of perfect relief in two games with four strikeouts retiring all 14 batters. On April 20, he earned a win over Appalachian State.
Other the top pitchers were Appalachian State's Matt Andress, College of Charleston's Jordan Tiegs, Jr., The Citadel's Drew Mahaffey, Davidson's Brant West, Georgia Southern's Kyle Kamppi, Wofford's Jordan Mickleberry and UNC Greensboro's Warren Slack.
