
Goudelock Tabbed AP All-America Honorable Mention

CHARLESTON, S.C. - College of Charleston all-time leading scorer and Southern Conference Player of the Year Andrew Goudelock (pronounced GOWD-lock) became the school's second All-American in the program's NCAA Division I era as he earned honorable mention honors by The Associated Press.
A 6-foot-2 senior guard from Stone Mountain, Ga., Goudelock has received numerous postseason honors since the Cougars' NIT quarterfinal run including a spot on the 2011 Lute Olson All-America Team sponsored by CollegeInsider.com. He was one of 22 top college players selected next to North Carolina's Harrison Barnes, BYU's Jimmer Fredette, Morehead State's Kenneth Faried, Duke's Nolan Smith, Kansas' Marcus Morris, Connecticut's Kemba Walker and Ohio State's Jared Sullinger.
Goudelock ranks first all-time in career scoring at CofC with 2,571 points which also ranks third all-time in Southern Conference history. He became the 62nd player in NCAA Division I men's basketball history to record 2,500 career points and ranks 39th all-time on the elite list. Goudelock also ranks first all-time in career three-pointers made (396), fourth all-time in career assists (424) and ninth all-time in career rebounding (464).
He is currently competing for Team Roger Brown's at the 2011 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament through April 9 in Portsmouth, Va. The event serves as a pre-NBA Draft showcase of the top college basketball players in the country. Goudelock scored a game-high 22 points with five three-pointers in a 91-75 loss to Team Cherry, Bekaert & Holland on Thursday and a game-high 26 points with seven three-pointers in a 81-68 victory over Team Mike Duman on Friday.
Former NBA standout Anthony Johnson last earned AP All-America honorable mention honors in 1997. The College was previously represented by four NAIA All-Americans on five occasions in Ken Gustafson (1975), Greg Mack (1983 and 1985), Dwayne Grace (1986) and Steven Johnson (1988).
