CHARLESTON, S.C. – Saturday will mark the second conference road game of the season for the College of Charleston men's soccer team (2-5-1), who will try to turn things around with a win against James Madison (0-7-3) at 7 p.m.
The Cougars come off a tough loss to the CCU Chanticleers on Wednesday night, and searched in vain to recapture the momentum after surrendering an early goal. Senior keeper Kevin Shields managed five saves, while Cesar Murillo and Nicolas Jeausseran managed two shots a piece in defeat.
The College will be looking to settle the score against the Dukes after falling 3-2 in the first round of last year's CAA Tournament. Jeausseran and Leland Archer both managed late goals in the contest, but it wasn't enough to overcome an early three-goal deficit. James Madison meanwhile comes into the contest searching for their first win of the season, having played both of their previous matches to scoreless draws against both Elon and William & Mary.
Like the College, the Dukes don't have a true offensive lynchpin on the stat-sheet, with six different players logging at least two points so far this year. In goal, they've turned to Kyle Morton in all ten of their contests. Morton sports a 1.53 GAA and a 0.722 save percentage on the year in over 880 minutes in frame.
No live video will be available for the contest due to conflicts with JMU football. Live stats will however be on hand.
