Cougars Secure No. 3 Seed, Will Face No. 6 Hofstra To Open CAA Tournament

RICHMOND, Va. --- The College of Charleston baseball team will be the No. 3 seed in next week's Colonial Athletic Association Championship and will face No. 6 Hofstra in the opening round after finishing the regular season with a 15-8 record in league play, announced CAA officials on Saturday evening with the release of the official pairings.
College of Charleston (35-17, 15-8 CAA) has enjoyed a dramatic resurgence in Chad Holbrook's first season at the helm. The Cougars have posted a 6-1 record against Power Five opponents and equaled the program's single-season record with seven shutouts – including four against major conference foes.
Charleston's journey through the CAA field will begin on Wednesday, May 23 in the second game of the day. The Cougars will face No. 6 seed Hofstra at 3:00 pm following an 11:00 am matchup between No. 4 UNCW (33-20, 14-9 CAA) and No. 5 Delaware (29-25, 12-11 CAA). The losers of the first two games will meet in an elimination contest at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
On Thursday, top-seeded Northeastern (33-17, 17-6 in CAA) takes on the UNCW/Delaware winner at 11:00 a.m. At 3:00 pm, No. 2 Elon (35-21, 16-8 in CAA) meets the Charleston/Hofstra winner. An elimination game follows at 7:00 pm. Tournament action continues with three games on Friday and the CAA championship game is set for 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 26.
All-session tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for youth (ages 18 and under). Single-day passes are $10 for adults and $5 for youth. Students from participating CAA institutions are admitted free with a valid student ID.
The first nine games of the 2018 CAA Baseball Championship will be video streamed live for free in high definition on CAA.TV as well as OTT platforms Roku, AppleTV, Amazon Fire TV and Android TV.
