CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston baseball team will look to extend its five-game winning streak with a midweek matchup against Georgia Southern on Wednesday evening at historic Grayson Stadium in Savannah, Ga. First pitch is slated for 6:00 pm., with sophomore Zach Williams (Marietta, Ga.) taking the ball for the Cougars opposite Georgia Southern junior Tyler Owens.
 
Game Preview
Charleston will look to extend its five-game winning streak with a midweek matchup against Georgia Southern on Wednesday. The Eagles defeated the Cougars, 8-0, in their first meeting of the season on Feb. 26 at Patriots Point.
 
Scouting Georgia Southern
Georgia Southern carries a 14-13 record into the week after dropping two of three to Louisiana Monroe over the weekend. The Eagles are tied for 25th in the nation with three shutouts this season, and are batting .276 as a team with 18 home runs and 46 doubles.
 
Noah Ledford leads the Eagles with six home runs, while Steven Curry paces the team with 18 RBI and a .351 batting average. Wednesday's starter, Tyler Owens, carries a 3-0 record with a 2.70 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 30 innings over five starts.

Charleston's offense was firing on all cylinders in Saturday's series finale. The Cougars registered season-highs in runs (16) and hits (17), while tying their campaign-best with six extra-base hits. Ten Cougars recorded at least one hit as 13 players reached safely.

Senior Logan McRae was named the CAA Player of the Week on Monday for the second time his career , while junior Griffin McLarty garnered CAA Pitcher of the Week recognition for the third time.
 
Cardiac Cougars
Charleston has been no stranger to late-game heroics this season with 12 comeback victories in its first 29 games. The Cougars have erased a deficit of three or more runs on five occasions this season, including a four-run shortfall in game one of a doubleheader with Hofstra on Saturday.
