CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston Women's Basketball is set to face off against preseason favorites James Madison on Sunday, Jan. 19 with tip-off scheduled for 1 p.m. at TD Arena. This game will be broadcasted on FloSports.
Last Outing
The College dropped its third consecutive game and fell to 2-3 in CAA play with a loss to Towson by a score of 79-62 on Jan. 17. Towson started out of the gate with a 7-0 run before the Cougars followed it up with a 9-0 run themselves to take their only lead of the game. The Tigers entered halftime with a seven-point lead, but senior Deja Ford came out of halftime knocking down a three pointer in the first few seconds of the third to cut the lead to just four. Towson then went on a big run and led by as much as 19 in the third quarter. CofC made a few runs in the fourth to attempt to cut the Tiger lead but couldn't get it within single digits.

James Madison enters the game with an overall record of 12-3 and a 3-1 record in conference play. The preseason favorites have won seven of their last eight games, most recently defeating UNCW by a score of 66-58.
Head coach Sean O'Regan is in the midst of his fourth season at the helm of the program. In his first three seasons with the team, he led the Dukes to the WNIT and made it to the third round of the tournament the first two seasons and the semifinals last season. In addition, in the last two seasons, he led his team to become CAA Regular Season Champions.
The team is led by two-time CAA Preseason Player of the Year Kamiah Smalls, who averaged a team and league high 20.1 points per game while also grabbing 4.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. The other Duke scoring double-digit points a game is Jackie Benitez, who averages 11.9 points a game.
