Charleston Looks To Bounce Back As It Plays Host To Winthrop

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston Women's Tennis remains at home to play host to Winthrop in an attempt to bounce back from a loss to Charlotte on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 2 p.m.

The Cougars
CofC enters the match with a 4-3 overall record, most recently falling to a tough Charlotte team on Feb. 9 by a score of 6-1. The Cougars look to bounce back from a home loss as they play host to Winthrop.
Freshman Halli Trinkle leads the team with a singles record of 5-1. Trinkle and doubles partner junior Eva Nyikos, along with the combination of senior Anastasia Palaska and freshman Slade Coetzee, hold a 3-2 record in doubles play this season.
The Cougars are 3-2 in their last five matches, outscoring their opponents 22-14 in that span. CofC's most recent win came against Charleston Southern, as the Cougars defeated the Buccaneers by a score of 6-1 on the road.

First year head coach Vivian Segnini is in the midst of her first season at the helm of the program and is in her first year as a head coach in general. Segnini is a Winthrop graduate and is only the second head coach in program history for the Eagles. The Eagles bolster the No. 88 nationally ranked singles player in Alisa Soloveva.
