Cougars Scratch Past UNCW, 3-1

WILMINGTON, N.C. --- Three Cougars recorded at least 10 kills, Logan Manusky amassed a match-high 24 digs and the College of Charleston accumulated 14 blocks as the Cougars rallied past UNCW for a 3-1 win on Saturday evening in Colonial Athletic Association play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Cougars bounced back from a 25-20 setback in set one to win the next three sets.
  • Charleston racked up 14 blocks to mark the fifth straight with at least 10 blocks.
  • The Cougars put down 16 kills in the second set and 13 in the fourth, and recorded five blocks in the third. 
COUGAR OF THE MATCH
Redshirt sophomore Claire Campbell delivered a superb performance with 10 kills and six blocks while hitting .364 on the night. The 6-foot-1 middle blocker accounted for six of her 10 kills in the final two frames.
 
NOTABLES
  • Senior Logan Manusky surpassed the 20-dig plateau for the fourth consecutive match with a contest-best 24, including 15 in the first two sets.
  • Lexi Wierzbicki led all hitters with 14 kills including seven in the second frame.
  • Logan Pope continued her strong play with 13 kills and three blocks while hitting an even .300.
  • Junior Amani Dunston recorded her second straight double-double with 20 assists and 11 digs.
  • Tori Carpenter narrowly missed a double-double with 21 assists and nine digs.
  • Gabi Bailey chipped in 10 digs, six kills and a pair of service aces.
  • Emma Falk added five blocks, four digs and two kills.

The Cougars wrap up the weekend with an afternoon match against the Seahawks on Sunday in Wilmington, N.C. First serve is slated for 1:00 p.m.
