CHARLESTON, S.C. --- Following a week-long pause due to COVID-19 protocols, the College of Charleston baseball team will resume its 2021 schedule on Tuesday with a midweek trip to Conway, S.C. to resume its long-standing rivalry with Coastal Carolina. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. at Springs Brooks Stadium.
Game Preview
The Cougars had won two straight following a doubleheader sweep of William & Mary on Saturday to win their opening series in CAA play before their season was put on a week-long pause. Coastal Carolina enters the week having won four of its last five after taking two of three at West Virginia over the weekend.
Scouting Coastal Carolina
The Chanticleers were picked to finish first in the Sun Belt Conference East Division and carry a 12-6 record into the week. Coastal ranks 15
th in the nation with 26 home runs this season and has drawn the 12
th-most walks (102) in NCAA Division I thus far.
Eric Brown leads the way for Coastal's offense with six home runs, 17 RBI and a .648 slugging percentage while Parker Chavers sets the tone with one homer, 18 RBI and a team-best .351 batting average. Tuesday starter has fanned six and posted a 3.00 ERA in six innings of work across two starts this season.

Harrison Hawkins has been on a tear over the last four games, batting .563 (9-for-16) with two homers and six RBI while leading the Cougars to a doubleheader sweep of William & Mary on March 12. The Preseason All-CAA selection has recorded four straight multi-hit games including a three-hit effort in game one of the twin bill. Hawkins provided the key hit in that game with a two-out, three-run homer in the fifth to open the scoring.
