
Cougars Host UNCW in CAA Saturday Showdown

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The College of Charleston men's tennis team (8-7, 1-1) will host its final CAA match on Saturday when it welcomes in the UNCW Seahawks (10-8, 0-0) at the CofC Tennis Center. The match will begin at 10:00 a.m.
The Cougars enter Saturday's action winners of two straight matches following a 2-0 road trip to North Carolina. Charleston began the two-match swing with a 6-1 win over Belmont-Abbey before taking care of Davidson, 5-2.
Charleston was scheduled to play The Citadel on Thursday, April 7, but the match was postponed due to weather. The contest will now be played on Wednesday, April 13 at the CofC Tennis Center. First serve is set for 4:00 p.m. and will serve as Senior Day.
Zac Larke earned CofC Student-Athlete of the Week honors in recognition of his performance last week. The sophomore went undefeated in singles, winning 6-3, 6-2 over Belmont Abbey and 6-4, 6-3 at Davidson in solo play. In doubles, Larke also went unblemished, winning 6-3 and 6-2 over Belmont Abbey and Davidson, respectively, alongside partner Robby Krick.
Several players are playing really well entering the weekend. Johnny Wang and Andre Limon are both 8-2 in their last 10 singles matches, while Noah Borges has won seven of his last 10. Limon and Wang each lead the team with an 11-4 record in singles play.
Charleston continues to play better and better in doubles, winning the point in each of the most recent two matches. Krick and Limon own the most doubles victories on the team as a pair with a 7-7 mark on the year. Andre Limon and Brolin Dorsey are 4-2 as a duo.
