ATHENS, Ga. --- The College of Charleston volleyball team fell to Texas Tech in straight sets Friday afternoon to begin the weekend at Georgia's Bulldog Classic.

Texas Tech (4-0) won the match by scores of 25-21, 25-19 and 25-13 compiling a .357 hitting percentage on the afternoon with 45 kills. The Red Raiders held College of Charleston (2-2) to a .125 clip on the attack as the Cougars fell to 2-2 on the young season.

Critical Point
With Charleston leading 12-11 in the second set, Texas Tech answered with a 4-0 run to jump in front, 15-12, on a kill from Maddie O'Brien. The Red Raiders would go on to win the set, 25-19, before completing the sweep in set three.

Key Cougars

Gabi Bailey paced the attack with 10 kills while adding seven digs.
Claire Campbell and Anna Smith finished the match with six kills each.
Emma Falk chipped in four kills and three blocks.
Jasmin Goei and Emma Appleman dished out 17 and 10 assists, respectively.
Tynley Smeltzer led the way in the back row with 10 digs.

Match Notes

Campbell posted a hitting percentage of at least .300 for the fourth straight match to open the season.
The Cougars suffer their second straight sweep for the first time since 2019.
