
2024 CAA Champions: By the Numbers

CHARLESTON, S.C. – No. 1 College of Charleston captured its ninth tournament championship and tenth trip to the NCAA Tournament after defeating No. 2 seeded Delaware in five sets in Towson, Md.
The 2024 campaign became the seventh time in program history that the Cougars are regular season and tournament champions in the same season. Charleston has also clinched a berth in the NCAA Tournament in 10 of its last 23 seasons.

BLOCK PARTY:
- Charleston set a program record for total blocks in a single season with its first block in Saturday's championship match, surpassing 2007's 323.0. The Cougars enter the NCAA Tournament with 335.0 total blocks.
- CofC tallied 14 blocks in the semifinal against Hofstra and 12 against Delaware, including six in the fifth set alone.
- 18 of Charleston's 33 matches this season have been a block party (10-plus blocks), with the Cougars recording 14-or-more blocks in nine of those contests.
- The previous Charleston CAA Tournament records were 25 blocks and Krissy Mummey's 12 individual blocks in 2015. The 2024 squad established a new high in total blocks (26) and individual blocks (Allie Holland, 14), which were done in one fewer match.
NOVEMBER TO REMEMBER:
- Caitlyn Callahan set a Charleston CAA Tournament record in hitting pct. (min. 10 kills), posting a .432 attacking pct. in the two matches. The previous high was .340, done twice, with the last coming by Krissy Mummey in 2017.
- Charleston defeated Delaware in the CAA Tournament for the first time in program history, improving to 6-2 overall as the No. 1 seed.
- The Cougars went a perfect 8-0 in the month of November, the most victories in the month since the team went 8-0 in 2012. Charleston is 96-25 all-time in November under head coach Jason Kepner.
- Charleston held Delaware to just three points in the fifth set which are the fewest points by an opponent since CofC beat The Citadel, 15-2, in set two on Nov. 7, 2000.
- The Cougars defense kept Hofstra and Delaware to a combined .138 attacking pct. across the two matches. This season, Charleston's opponents have hit .130-or-worse in 18 of the 33 contests.
- CofC finished the regular season 17-1 at home, the most by a non-Power 4 program and second behind Nebraska (18-0).
