
Cougars Travel to Columbia to Face Gamecocks

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's soccer team will travel to Columbia to face South Carolina on Sunday, August 25 at 7:00 p.m.
The Cougars hosted High Point at home on Thursday, defeating the Panthers to improve to a 3-0 record on the season. Charleston has outscored their opponents 11-0 thus far.
In Thursday's matchup, Lilli Ray scored first for the Cougars, tallying her first goal of the season. Faith Slimmer added a second with a one-touch ball into the back of net, followed by Shea Vidovic scoring her fourth goal of the season.
With a win on Sunday versus the Gamecocks, the Cougars would advance to 4-0 on the season for the first time in over a decade, while head coach Christian Michner would reach his 100th career win.
South Carolina currently sits 1-0 on the season, after defeating Furman with a dominant 5-1 performance last Sunday. The Gamecocks concluded the 2023 season with a 12-3-6 record, advancing to the second round of the NCAA tournament before falling to Stanford.
