Volleyball Welcomes Transfers Dow and Mack

CHARLESTON, S.C. – College of Charleston volleyball head coach Jason Kepner has announced the addition of transfer setters Lauren Dow and Lainee Mack.
"I am very excited to add Lauren and Lainee to the program," said Kepner. "They both won conference championships and competed in the NCAA tournament, giving them the experience we're looking for. They're going to add to the competition in our gym and are both great teammates, students and people. They've already begun to make an impact in their short time on campus."
Lauren Dow – Setter – Lander University
Lauren Dow joins Charleston after two seasons at Division II Lander, where she totaled 2,155 assists (9.47/set), 723 digs, 139.0 total blocks, 217 kills and 100 service aces in 230 sets. In 2024, Dow helped Lander win the Peach Belt Conference regular season and advance to the Division II Southeast Regional final. During her freshman campaign, Dow was named 2023 AVCA Division II Freshman of the Year and AVCA All-American Honorable Mention in addition to earning Peach Belt Conference Freshman and Setter of the Year and First Team honors. In 2023, Dow tallied 1,238 assists (9.75/set) along with 402 digs, 83.0 total blocks, 118 kills and 54 service aces across 127 sets.
"Lauren had a tremendous first two years of her college career," said Kepner. "Anytime you can add an All-American to your program is definitely a great day. She has all the skills you look for in a setter and is a great leader on the court. Her ability to defend and run an offense will keep us playing at a high level. Lauren is competitive and driven to help her team and teammates succeed."
Lainee Mack – Setter – Flagler College
Lainee Mack comes to CofC following two years at Division II Flagler. Mack recorded 387 assists, (3.76/set), 156 digs, 14 kills and 19 service aces during her two seasons with the Saints. Mack, the daughter of men's basketball head coach Chris Mack, received the Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar following her freshman campaign in 2023.
"Lainee has trained and played at a high level her whole life," said Kepner. "She is extremely hard-working and runs an offense with great efficiency. She has a very high volleyball IQ and can help her team win with her decisions. Lainee has a soft touch on the ball and her location and tempo are very consistent."
Dow and Mack join a freshman class that features Sydney Bates, Amanda Busk, Julia Gnida, Jumana Martin, Caroline Noonan and Makena Parthen. Martin and Noonan have joined the roster for the spring semester.
