
Charleston Heads to Boulder for Showdown with Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team heads to Boulder, Colo. for a contest at Colorado Tuesday night at the CU Events Center

CofC returns six key contributors from last year's team, while adding seven newcomers, including three key transfers in Tyja Beans (Western Carolina), Grace Ezebilo (Tyler Junior College) and Chynell Mitchell (UTRGV).
The 2024-25 Charleston women's basketball team set a record for the most wins in the program's Division I era with 25. Charleston also earned its first Power 4 win since 2009 with a 68-62 victory over Northwestern at the Hawk Classic on December 20, 2024.

AMONG THE NCAA — The Cougars currently have two players who are in the top-10 in the nation in their respective categories. Taylor Barbot is one of only five players in the country to record a triple-double, and she's also 5th in the nation in total assists (55) and assists per game (7.9). Grace Ezebilo is 3rd in the country in rebounds per game (13.3), and the junior forward is tied for 3rd in total rebounds (89) and defensive boards per game (9.2). Taryn Barbot also in the top-20 in both points per game (22.3) and total points (156).
As a team, Charleston is in the top-10 in two categories. The Cougars are 4th in the country in offensive rebounds per game (18.7) and 5th in rebounds per game (49.3).

LAST TIME OUT — The College of Charleston women's basketball team fell 70-59 to High Point at the Big Easy Classic Saturday afternoon.
The two teams swapped leads through the first half, but a late surge before halftime by the Panthers – a team that received votes in the most recent College Insider Mid-Major poll – gave them a lead they would never relinquish.
The January 25th home game against NC A&T will serve as the main celebratory night and commemorate the 50 years of the program's existence. The 1974-75 Charleston women's basketball team, which was the first-ever varsity squad, will be honored at the game.
