MT PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston baseball hosts Charleston Southern for a midweek contest on Tuesday, April 1. First pitch from Patriots Point is set for 6 p.m. with the game airing on FloCollege.
 
 
FIRST PITCH:
  • CofC lost the series finale to Campbell, 8-7, on Sunday.
  • The Cougars scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth in Saturday's contest to earn the 6-5 victory.
  • Sophomore Brent Gibbs launched his first career long ball in Friday's set back, the eighth different Cougar to leave the ballpark this year.
  • Graduate Avery Neaves extended his on base streak to 19 games and has reached base safely in 24 of the 26 contests.
  • Senior Dariyan Pendergrass stole his 22nd base on Sunday and is one of four Cougars since 2013 to steal at least 20 bags in a campaign.
  • Junior Payton Frehner is batting .368 (7-for-19) in his last five games with a .478 on base percentage.
  • Pendergrass (7) and Neaves (8) have combined to score 15 of the team's 33 runs across the last five contests. 
 
SERIES HISTORY:
  • Charleston and Charleston Southern meet for the 81st time in program history Tuesday, the second-most meetings against an opponent (The Citadel – 103). The Cougars hold a 62-18 overall record and are 31-12 at home. CofC has scored 10-plus runs in 30 of the 80 contests.
  • Charleston won two of the three meetings in 2024, beating the Bucs 12-2 on April 9 and 10-2 on April 16.
 
UP NEXT:
  • CofC has its first weekend road trip of the season, traveling to West Long Branch, N.J., to take on Monmouth April 4-6. First pitches from MU Baseball Field are set for 3 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
