
Four Cougars Earn CAA Postseason Awards

RICHMOND, Va. – Four Cougars have earned recognition on the 2024-25 CAA Men's Basketball Postseason Awards, highlighted by Ante Brzovic being named to his second straight All-CAA First Team. CJ Fulton and Derrin Boyd were named to the All-CAA Third Team while Justas Stonkus earned a spot on the All-Rookie Team. Fulton was also named the CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Charleston's four selections are the most of any team in the league.
Brzovic, a two-time All-CAA First Team recipient, finished the regular season averaging 18.5 points per game, 8.2 rebounds per game, and 2.9 assists per game. He ranks in the top three in the CAA in both points per game and rebounds per game, the only player in the top ten in both categories. He is currently ninth in the nation in total field goals (226) and 16th in defensive rebounds per game (6.65). Brzovic scored in double-figures 27 times this season, crossing the 20+ threshold 14 times, while leading the league in field goal percentage (.549).
The senior from Croatia set career highs this season in points and field goals made, both in the Cougars double-overtime thriller vs. Florida Atlantic where Brzovic sank the game-winning three as time expired. His 2024-25 season will go down in the record books with the 14th most points in a single season (573), 11th most field goals made (226), and fifth most defensive rebounds (206).
Fulton earns his first CAA postseason award with a spot on the All-CAA Third Team. Fulton has led the nation in assist/turnover ratio since January 11, dishing out at least seven assists 13 times including five games with 10+. The senior from Ireland set a career-high with 12 assists at Hofstra, the second most in a single game in school history. His 199 assists this season are the third most in a single season in school history. He averaged 7.6 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game and is just four rebounds away from 500 career boards. He finished the regular season with a season-high 20 points vs. Delaware.
Fulton was also named the CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year. A political science major, he boasts a 3.622 GPA.
Boyd joins Fulton on the All-CAA Third Team. A graduate student from Princeton, Kentucky, Boyd averaged 13.7 points per game and 3.2 rebounds per game, shooting 41% from the field in his first season with the Cougars. He scored a season-high 26 points vs. Hampton, recording seven 20+ point performances. He ended the season draining seven three-pointers, going 60% from the field with 25 points and five rebounds vs. Campbell.
Stonkus was named to the All-CAA Rookie Team after his first season in the Holy City. He joins Brzovic as the only player to play in all 31 games this season for the Cougars. A native of Lithuania, Stonkus averaged 5.0 points per game and 1.8 rebounds per game while shooting 40% from the field. He scored a career-high 13 points in his first collegiate start at William & Mary, and grabbed a career-high eight rebounds vs. Hampton.
The Cougars will be the No. 3 seed in the upcoming 2025 Jersey Mike's CAA Men's Basketball Championship in Washington, D.C. The team will begin play on Sunday, March 9 at 8:30 vs. the winner of No. 6 Monmouth and No. 11 Hofstra/No. 14 North Carolina A&T.
