
Top-Seeded Cougars Set for CAA Quarterfinal Against William & Mary

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The No. 1 College of Charleston women's basketball team is set to face off against No. 8 William & Mary in the CAA Tournament Quarterfinals on Friday afternoon. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m.

OPENING TIP — The Cougars went 16-2 in CAA play and won the 2025-26 CAA Regular Season Championship by three games. The championship is Charleston's first ever title in Division I program history. Additionally, the Cougars' 16 conference wins set another Division I program milestone.
CofC has reached the 20-win mark for the third consecutive season – the first time the program has done so in the D1 era.
The Cougars' 75-70 win at Florida State in December gave them a win over a Power 4 school for the second consecutive year. It was also Charleston's first victory over an ACC school since CofC defeated Clemson in 2009.
The Cougars are currently ranked 10th in the most recent College Insider Mid-Major top-25 rankings, No. 104 in the NET and No. 126 in the Torvik.
CofC returns two starters from last years WNIT Super 16 squad, including the reigning CAA Player of the Year in Taryn Barbot.
Charleston returns six key contributors from last year's team, while adding seven newcomers, including two starting transfers in Tyja Beans (Western Carolina), Grace Ezebilo (Tyler Junior College).
The 2024-25 Charleston women's basketball team set a record for the most wins in the program's Division I era with 25. Charleston also earned its first Power 4 win since 2009 with a 68-62 victory over Northwestern at the Hawk Classic on December 20, 2024.

AMONG THE NCAA — The Cougars currently have two players who are in the top-20 in the nation in their respective categories. Grace Ezebilo is 4th in the country in offensive rebounds per game (4.7), 7th in rebounds per game (11.9) and is also in the top-20 in total rebounds (346). Taylor Barbot is one of only 24 players in the country to record a triple-double and is also in the top-20 in assists per game (5.8) and assist/turnover ratio (2.45).
As a team, Charleston is in the top-20 in the country in offensive rebounds per game (16.0), turnover margin (7.21) and turnovers per game (12.7).

SCOUTING THE TRIBE — William & Mary went 9-9 in conference play and earned the No. 8 seed in the CAA Tournament. The Tribe won their first game of the tournament against N.C. A&T 61-58 on Thursday afternoon. Since falling to Charleston 70-48 on February 27, William & Mary has won four straight games.
The Tribe are led by junior guard Cassidy Geddes who made the All-CAA Second Team and is averaging 13.7 points per game. Geddes had 15 points, five assists and four steals in the Tribe's 61-58 win over N.C. A&T in the second round of the CAA Tournament. Additionally, senior guard Alexa Mikeska had a near double-double with 10 points, nine boards and four steals on Thursday afternoon.
MATCHUP HISTORY VS. WILLIAM & MARY — Charleston is 13-14 all-time against William & Mary, but the Cougars have won the last four contests against the Tribe, including two wins earlier this season.

THE HARMONY FILE — The 2025-26 campaign is Robin Harmony's seventh as the head coach at College of Charleston. Harmony was named the program's eighth head coach on April 19, 2019 and has earned 119 wins at CofC, including three straight 20 win seasons at the helm.
In her most recent season, Harmony led the Cougars to their winningest season in D1 program history with 25 wins. The Cougars advanced to the semifinals of the CAA conference tournament and the Super 16 in the WNIT after earning their first postseason victory ever on their home court.
