
Charleston Faces Stony Brook for Final Regular Season Home Game

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston women's basketball team hosts Stony Brook for the final home game of the year on Thursday night.
Thursday evening will also be senior night for the Class of 2026. The Cougars will honor graduate student Chynell Mitchell, redshirt senior Sophia Tougas, senior Marissa Brown and student manager Katie Campbell.

CLINCH SCENARIOS — After clinching at least a share of the CAA Regular Season Championship last Friday, the Cougars need one win in either of their final two games to clinch the outright CAA Title. A loss by Stony Brook in any of the Seawolves final two games would also give Charleston the outright CAA Regular Season Title and the No. 1 overall seed in the CAA Tournament.
OPENING TIP — CofC, the preseason Coastal Athletic Association favorites, is 14-2 in CAA play. The squad started conference play 12-0 and is 22-5 overall. CofC has reached the 20-win mark for the third consecutive season – the first time the program has done so in the D1 era. The Cougars also matched their most wins in CAA history with their 14th win last Friday.
The Cougars' 75-70 win at Florida State in December gave them a win over a Power 4 school for the second consecutive year. It was also Charleston's first victory over an ACC school since CofC defeated Clemson in 2009.
The Cougars are currently ranked 9th in the most recent College Insider Mid-Major top-25 rankings, No. 106 in the NET and No. 121 in the Torvik.
CofC returns two starters from last years WNIT Super 16 squad, including the reigning CAA Player of the Year in Taryn Barbot.
Charleston returns six key contributors from last year's team, while adding seven newcomers, including two starting transfers in Tyja Beans (Western Carolina), Grace Ezebilo (Tyler Junior College).

Grace Ezebilo is 4th in the country in offensive rebounds per game (4.7), 6th in rebounds per game (12.0) and is also in the top-20 in total rebounds (325). Taylor Barbot is one of only 23 players in the country to record a triple-double and is also in the top-20 in assists per game (5.7) and assist/turnover ratio (2.37).
As a team, Charleston is in the top-20 in the country in offensive rebounds per game (15.9), turnover margin (7.04) and turnovers per game (12.6).

SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES — Stony Brook is 12-4 in conference play and 17-12 overall. The Seawolves are 4-9 on the road and are coming off home wins over Hampton and Elon last weekend.
The Seawolves are led by junior guard Janay Brantley who's averaging 13.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest. The other double digit scorer for Stony Brook is graduate guard Diaka Berete. Berete's averaging 11.4 points and 4.3 boards per contest.

Additionally, She was named the CAA Player of the Week on December 1 after a strong week at the Big Easy Classic in New Orleans, and once more on November 17 after posting her eighth career 30-point game in the 75-44 win over Iona.
Grace Ezebilo was named the CAA Player of the Week on February 9 after averaging 11.5 points and an incredible 21.5 rebounds per game as she helped CofC win two games and improve to 11-0 in CAA play.
Taylor Barbot garnered Coastal Athletic Association Player of the Week honors on December 15 after leading all players in points (20) and assists (8) in the Cougars 75-70 win at Florida State.
Additionally, Taryn Barbot was picked as the CAA Preseason Player of Year and was named to the Preseason All-CAA First Team. She was also one of just 25 athletes named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year watch list. Taylor Barbot earned a Preseason All-CAA Second Team nod.
THE HARMONY FILE — The 2025-26 campaign is Robin Harmony's seventh as the head coach at College of Charleston. Harmony was named the program's eighth head coach on April 19, 2019 and has earned 117 wins at CofC, including three straight 20 win seasons at the helm.
In her most recent season, Harmony led the Cougars to their winningest season in D1 program history with 25 wins. The Cougars advanced to the semifinals of the CAA conference tournament and the Super 16 in the WNIT after earning their first postseason victory ever on their home court.

- Campbell jumped out to a 12-3 lead and held a 16-6 advantage after the first 10 minutes.
- Taryn Barbot went on a personal 9-0 run to bring CofC within one (18-17) with four minutes left in the half.
- Charleston took a 21-19 lead off a Taryn Barbot layup and headed into the locker with a 25-23 advantage.
- After Campbell tied the game 31-all, Leah Philpotts put CofC back in front with a layup before the third quarter media timeout.
- The Camels then took a 36-35 lead with 3:05 left in the third period, but CofC closed the quarter on a 10-1 run to take a 45-37 edge into the final 10 minutes.
- Taryn Barbot hit two free throws to put CofC up 54-47 with 4:25 left in the game.
- After Taryn made two more free throws to make it a 57-53 game in favor of the Cougars with less than two minutes to play, Campbell hit a three and got a layup off a steal to take a 58-57 game with 19 seconds left.
- The Cougars had an opportunity to win the game, but couldn't convert a layup as Campbell went on to win by a final of 59-57.

- Moving forward, a valid ID is required to be scanned/swiped for each transaction.
- Vertical IDs will not be accepted at sales locations regardless of the individual's age.
- All ID checks will be handled directly by our Aramark concession partners at each stand. EPI staff will no longer check ID's or provide wristbands.
- No more than two (2) alcoholic beverages may be sold or served per transaction.
WHAT TO EXPECT — Fans will enter TD Arena at the Meeting Street entrance.
- Once inside, fans will be asked to take their belongings out of their pockets and place them in a bin. This includes phone, wallet, keys, etc.
- If you bring a bag compliant with the Clear Bag policy, your items can be placed in the bag.
- EPI security staff will provide guidance on when to walk through the magnetometer and assist in retrieving your belongings after you clear through the magnetometer.
