
Diaz Named CAA Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – College of Charleston freshman Nick Diaz earned Coastal Athletic Association Rookie of the Week honors.
Diaz batted .467 (7-15) with two doubles, a homer, five runs scored and seven RBI in Charleston's 3-1 week. The outfielder had multiple hits in three contests, highlighted by a 2-for-4 outing with a three-run homer and four RBI in a 12-2 win over William & Mary on Saturday to cap a three-game sweep.
Charleston earned its seventh weekly honor and second different rookie of the week as Diaz joins freshmen Jake Amman (Player, March 2), freshman Carter Harrington (Rookie, March 9), sophomore Alex LaCoste (Player, April 6), graduate Dylan Johnson (Player, April 20), redshirt junior Carson Bryant (Pitcher, May 4) and Kurt Rogers (Pitcher, May 11).
College of Charleston baseball is the No. 4 seed in the 2026 Coastal Athletic Association Baseball Championship, which will be hosted by UNCW in Wilmington, N.C. at Brooks Field May 20-23.
The Cougars will be making their 27th consecutive CAA Tournament appearance and will face No. 5 Hofstra in the opening round on Wednesday, May 20. First pitch is set for noon.
