Antonio and Heffernan Earn Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention Honors

Charleston, S.C. - College of Charleston women's soccer players Bella Antonio and Maggie Heffernan were named to the 2026 Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention selections as announced by the league Monday.
Bella Antonio returns for her senior season after a stand-out junior year. The forward out of North Ridgeville, Ohio played in all 17 games last season, starting 16. Antonio scored five goals and had four assists. She earned CAA Offensive Player of the Week honors on September 22, 2025, after scoring her second career brace against Monmouth.
Maggie Heffernan appeared in 16 games last season, starting 13. The breakout defender scored five goals, tallying ten points. Her first career goal was scored against Houston Christian, and her first career brace was against Hampton. Both of those games included game-winners by the Lexington, S.C. product.
After tallying a team-leading five goals apiece last season, Antonio and Heffernan return as the Cougars top returning point scorers.
The College of Charleston women's soccer team was ranked fourth in the CAA South pre-season poll.
The Cougars take the stage at home this Wednesday, August 12 for their season opener against Southern Utah.
