Michael Harrington and Chris Campbell homered, and Alex Garabedian drove in four runs with two hits as 25th-ranked College of Charleston downed The Citadel, 15-9, in Southern Conference baseball action before 5,111 at Joe Riley Park on Saturday.
With the win, the Cougars improved to 33-10 overall and 14-3 in league play. The Bulldogs fell to 24-18 and 8-9. The Cougars, who won Friday's opener 7-2, go for the three-game series sweep on Sunday at 1:00.
Harrington's ninth homer of the season was a three-run shot to right in the first that staked the Cougars a 3-0 lead. Campbell hit a one-out solo homer to left in the seventh that extended the Cougars' advantage to 9-7.
Garabedian had a two-run single in the third and another two-run single to center in the seventh that gave Charleston an 11-7 lead.
The Citadel pounded out 17 hits including a two-run homer in the first by Sonny Meade and solo homers from Richard Jones and Bryan Altman.
Jake Goldberg (6-0) picked up the win in relief allowing four runs over 4 2/3 innings of work. The Citadel starter Matt Crim (4-3) suffered the loss surrendering eight runs, seven earned, over the first two innings of work.
Harrington finished with three RBI while Campbell scored three times and drove in a pair. Ben Lasater added three hits and Joey Bergman delivered a three-run double in Charleston's four-run ninth inning.
