RICHMOND, Va. – Highlighted by graduate Dylan Johnson receiving CAA Defensive Player of the Year and All-CAA First Team honors, six College of Charleston baseball players earned All-Coastal Athletic Association postseason honors, the league office announced Tuesday.
In addition to Johnson, redshirt junior Carson Bryant, graduate Reece Holbrook and sophomore Alex LaCoste all tabbed CAA Honorable Mentions, while freshmen Jake Amman and Carter Harrington made the CAA All-Rookie Team.
Johnson is just the fourth Cougar to ever win the CAA Defensive Player of the Year award, and the first since 2019. He's also the first catcher to win the award since 2013. Johnson made 53 starts and appeared in all 54 ballgames for the Cougars during the 2026 campaign. In addition to his four homers and 35 RBI, Johnson leads the team in average (.342), runs scored (41), hits (69), doubles (18), total bases (101) and OPS (.942). His 18 doubles are the third best in the CAA, while his 69 hits are tied for fourth and his .342 average is the seventh best. Bryant has struck out 45 batters, while allowing just 17 walks in 53.0 innings.
Holbrook has played and started in 53 games for CofC. He hit for a .294 average with 53 base knocks, one homer, 18 RBI and an OPS of .794. His 21 stolen bases lead the team and is tied for the ninth most in the conference. Holbrook's 16 doubles are the second most on the team and tied for the fifth most in the CAA. He's had 14 mutli-hit performances during the 2026 campaign.
