Speaking about the tough loss
“That was a tough one to lose but I expected it to be a tough game. They're a matchup that makes our games very competitive. I think the major stat that you look at for them is 21 offensive rebounds. They are very quick to the ball and quick jumpers and we didn't do a good enough job keeping a team like that off of the boards. We were really very fortunate that they didn't do better at the free throw line or it would have been over a good while back. It was a hard fought competitive game with two good teams and we didn't come out on the front end this time”.
On Deidra Jones second half performance
“Deidra's performance was vitally important. With Deidra, it was the story of the first half as we ought to be getting that kind of production sporadically through each half instead of it having to be all in one half. I think Deidra on any given night is one of the best, if not the best, post player in the conference. There is nobody we play that should be any better. We have to do a better job of getting her opportunities through out a half”.
On the difference in the overtime session
“The difference was that they didn't give us any good wide open looks. We didn't have a whole lot of offense left on the floor at that time and that limited us and they did a good job on us. We came up with the buckets to keep us in it but couldn't get the big ones we needed and they did”.
About UNC Greensboro and Elon road trip
“It's a tough road trip and really that trip could be anything. We could go 2-0, 0-2, 1-1. Nothing is unrealistic for this road trip and either one of those teams is capable of beating any team on any given night. Were capable of beating both of them, we've already proven that. We'll have to play hard, play smart and we'll certainly have to have our top five to seven people all clicking. This team will always try very hard and if we are hitting on all cylinders we should come out alright”.
