Cougars Surge To 52-42 Road Victory at UNCG Behind Frye Three

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Sophomore Alyssa Frye (Chester, Va.) scored a game-high 14 points, including a late three-pointer, to help the College of Charleston women's basketball team surge to a 52-42 road victory over UNCG on Friday night at Fleming Gymnasium.
The Cougars (3-13, 2-5 SoCon) had nine players contribute to the final tally in a game which saw five ties and 15 lead changes until the Cougars went on a 13-2 run over the final four minutes to defeat the Spartans (2-13, 1-6 SoCon).
Junior Megan Fischer (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) junior Latisha Harris (Aynor, S.C.) and freshman Mikaela Hopkins (Augusta, Ga.) each added eight points.
The Cougars held UNCG to 31.5 percent shooting from the field (17-of-54) to capture their first road win of the season and end an eight-game losing streak since a 49-44 win over Wofford on Dec. 5.
