College of Charleston men's basketball heads to the CAA after a very successful season under first-year head coach Doug Wojcik.
The Cougars won 24 games and advanced to the finals of the Southern Conference Tournament. Charleston defeated No. 21 Baylor on the road for the program's second-ever road win over a ranked team.
CofC returns the conference's leading rebounder in Adjehi Baru, along with starters Anthony Stitt, Anthony Thomas and Willis Hall.
In 2013-14, Charleston will play in the Wooden Legacy Even in Anaheim which will also feature Creighton, Marquette, Miami (Fla.), San Diego State, Arizona State, Cal State Fullerton and George Washington.
Last season, the crowds at TD Arena led the Southern Conference in attendance, and Cougar fans will be called on to represent the city of Charleston and Cougar basketball for new conference opponents.
CAA Men's Basketball Facts
The CAA has won its opening round game in the NCAA Tournament for the past four years and six of the past eight seasons after league champion James Madison topped LIU Brooklyn in 2013.
Since 2006, the CAA has a 14-12 record in the NCAA Tournament and has had two teams reach the NCAA Final Four.
CAA teams have combined to win 41 games in postseason play since 2006. During that time, the CAA has had two teams reach the NCAA Final Four, one reach the semifinals of the NIT and has had squads capture championships of the CBI and CIT.
CAA Men's Basketball Championship moves to 1st Mariner Arena in downtown Baltimore for the next three years (2014-16).
CAA teams enjoyed their most extensive television coverage in history in 2012-13 with 24 national telecasts on NBC Sports Network and 29 additional games on various Comcast SportsNets and additional CAA television affiliates. In all, CAA men's basketball teams appeared in over 100 telecasts.
