
Cougars To Host Hofstra, Northeastern In Back-To-Back Battles Of CAA Contenders

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The College of Charleston volleyball team will host Hofstra (13-9, 5-3 CAA) and Northeastern (15-6, 8-0 CAA) in a pair of pivotal battles this weekend, as the Cougars enter the home stretch of their 2017 regular season.

Leading the Charge: Senior Krissy Mummey reclaimed the CAA lead in hitting percentage this past weekend after hitting.421 at Elon and Wiliam & Mary. The 6-foot-3 middle blocker currently boasts a .403 attacking clip on the season, which leads the conference by 10 percentage points, and ranks second on the team with 224 kills.
Climbing the Ladder: Junior setter Allison Beckman continues to make her way toward the top of the Cougars' record books with another fine season. With 30 assists in the Cougars' sweep of Appalachian State on September 15, the 5-foot-10 setter moved into seventh in program history, and currently sits at 3,062 assists for her career.
Digging Out Honors: Junior libero McKala Rhodes dug her way to her second CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors of the season this week after averaging 5.00 digs per set at Elon and William and Mary. The 5-foot-10 Charleston native is currently 15 digs shy of moving into a tie for 10th on the program's all-time list alongside former teammate and 2015 All-CAA First Team selection Melissa Morello.

Luisa Sydlik ranks second in the conference in assists per set (11.37), while Laura Masciullo comes into the match ranked fourth in kills per set (3.78).
Scouting Northeastern: Northeastern comes into the weekend undefeated in conference play with an 8-0 record. The Huskies rank second in the CAA in service aces per set (1.50), paced by Amy Underdown's average of 0.39 aces per frame.
