Phoenix And Tribe Await Cougars On Senior Weekend

CHARLESTON, S.C. --- The No. 22 (VolleyballMag.com Mid-Major Poll) College of Charleston volleyball team welcomes Elon (16-13, 5-9 CAA) and William and Mary (5-23, 2-12 CAA) to TD Arena this weekend to close out the regular season, with the top seed in next week's Colonial Athletic Association championship already in hand.

Senior Celebrations: The Cougars will celebrate their senior class prior to the match against William & mary on Sunday with a special ceremony honoring the contributions Jane Feddersen, Riana Brennan, Natalie Tucker, and Krissy Mummey have made to the program over the last several seasons.
Crushing the Competition: Krissy Mummey has put together an unforgettable senior thus far, and continues to rise to the occasion against the Cougars' toughest opponents. In CofC's 10 matches against teams ranked amongst the top 100 in RPI, Mummey is averaging 3.39 kills and 0.92 blocks per set while attacking at a .395 clip. She has been particularly effective in the Cougars' six wins against top-100 teams – averaging 3.71 kills per set in those matches while hitting a blistering .459.
Climbing the Ladder: Junior setter Allison Beckman continues to make her way toward the top of the Cougars' record books with another fine season. With 27 assists in the Cougars' sweep of UNCW on October 28, the 5-foot-10 setter moved into sixth in program history, and currently sits at 3,295 assists for her career.
Top-10 Stalwart: Junior libero McKala Rhodes put in a performance of historical significance last weekend, as the 5-foot-10 Charleston native moved up to eighth on the program's all-time digs list with a match-high 23 in the Cougars' win over Towson. Rhodes is currently sitting on a career total of 1,346 digs.
Scouting Elon: The Phoenix (16-13, 5-9 CAA) enter the match occupying the sixth and final spot in the CAA Tournament with two matches left in the regular season. Elon ranks fifth in the conference in kills (13.02) and service aces (1.22) per set. Sydney Busa leads the conference with 4.30 kills per set, while freshman setter Kodi Garcia ranks third in assists per frame (10.64).
Scouting William and Mary: The Tribe comes into the weekend with a 5-23 overall record, and a 2-12 mark in the CAA. William and Mary ranks seventh in the conference in both kills (11.76) and blocks (1.74) per set, while Sydney Biniak is tied for fifth in kills per frame (3.75). Julia Brown paces the Tribe at the net with 0.97 blocks per frame.
